The Devil’s Corporation

Apropos of almost nothing, I find myself thinking today about the simple beauty of the definition of “corporation” in Ambrose Bierce’s masterwork of misanthropy, The Devil’s Dictionary:
CORPORATION, n. An ingenious device for obtaining individual profit without individual responsibility.
